You already know that Bridge Bread is more than just a bakery—it's a launchpad for unhoused individuals seeking self-sufficiency. Your support is crucial to this mission, and we want to be perfectly clear about how it makes a difference.

We often get a kind compliment that is also our biggest challenge: "Since you sell so many amazing baked goods, you must not need donations!"

While our social enterprise is highly successful at sales, our financial model is actually a powerful two-part formula for restoration:

1. The Empowerment Fund (Funded by Bread Sales)

When you buy a loaf, sweet roll, or cookie, you are directly paying the wages, benefits, and ingredient costs for our bakers.

Your purchases pay the salaries of the program employees. This builds their work history, confidence, and financial stability—it is the hand-up, not the handout.

2. The Foundation Fund (Funded by Donations & Grants)

The funds from bread sales get our bakers to work, but they don't cover the vital infrastructure and support that makes the program sustainable and restorative.

DONATIONS -> BUILDING + UTILITIES + ADMINISTRATION + HOUSING SUPPORT

Your donation is the foundation. It covers the cost of the building, the utilities, the insurance, and the administrative staff who provide the crucial housing assistance and coaching needed to overcome obstacles to being housed.

The Critical Need Right Now

We are excited to share that grants have allowed us to expand our operations to hire more bakers this year! This means our Empowerment Fund (sales) is growing, but we urgently need to stabilize our Foundation Fund (donations) to support this new level of operation.

A gift today is not simply closing a gap; it’s protecting our capacity to grow and help more people.

• A gift of $75 covers our administrative support costs for half a day.
• A gift of $150 covers all the utility costs for our bakery for one day.
